One of the pests that you are going to have to worry about in your home is the centipede. These pests will have a ton of legs and they are found around most parts of the world, so it is not that weird to find them in your home. They are rarely going to be seen though because they often only come out during the evening and they can move very quickly. Most of them are going to live for more than a year and some, if they are allowed to grow and do what they want, will live for up to six years.

House centipedes, which are some of the most common, will be easy to spot because they are long and look similar to a worm in their body. But they have a ton of legs. The exact amount will depend on the centipede, with many having between 15 to 177, with one pair per segment. They do have an odd number of legs each time, which can make them a little bit unusual compared to some of the other bugs you may see.

For the most part, the body of the centipede is more likely to be yellowish to dark brown in color, with some of them having darker stripes or markings on them. When you look at the head, there will be a long and sensitive antennae on the top of them. Their mouths are small and they have a claw structure that is going to hold onto the venom gland that you should worry about if you see one in your home. They have eyes that have a lot of units to it to help them see well.

When we explore the centipede, you will notice that there are two types, with one being smaller, about one to one and a half inches long and then the longer one that is up to six inches long. They are going to have a lot of the same characteristics, but one will just be longer and probably look a little scarier than some of the others that can get into your home.
