Great British Bake Off bets halted by Ladbrokes
Ladbrokes has stopped wagering on BBC show the Great British Bake Off after a flurry of wagers stimulated worries the winner's name may have been leaked.

"A run of bets" was placed for one contestant, numerous at shops in the Ipswich area, the bookmaker said.
It is not known which baker triggered the flurry or whether any candidates have connections with the yohaig code Suffolk town.
The first episode of the popular amateur baking contest aired on BBC One Wednesday night.

It is the 6th series of the show, which challenges 12 hopefuls to impress judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
Each week the amateur bakers are expected to deal with a baking challenge, with minimal directions, and provide a "signature dish".
'Soggy bottom'
The bookmaker said a flurry of bets came in for one of the 12 contestants whose chances started at 12/1 and were lowered to 6/1, 3/1 and after that evens.

"We provided prices on Monday and, practically before the ink was dry, an unusual variety of punters remained in a rush to back just one contestant," David Williams of Ladbrokes stated.
"On Tuesday and Wednesday it was more of the same one-way traffic. That was enough to set our alarm bells ringing and, as a preventative measure, we suspended our betting.

"Hopefully, we'll go back up with modified chances faster rather than later, however we didn't want to get captured with our pants took down and a soaked bottom, so we've decided to take a breather till we are assured that Bake Off hasn't gone off currently.

"When you see a run of bets like this promotion code for one participant at the cost of everyone else that can be a sign to suspend wagering for a bit to evaluate the circumstance," he added.
Several of the bets placed were the maximum the bookie would consider wagers made on the show's result, and 90% were put on one participant.

The suspension would not affect bets currently positioned, the business said.
The first participant to be knocked out of the competitors on Wednesday evening was Stuart Henshall from Surrey.
The 11 remaining entrants are from Berkshire, Lancashire, Cambridgeshire, London, West Yorkshire, Manchester, Essex, Swansea and 2 from Perthshire.
