Even today, crores of aspiring talents are in search of such platforms, where they are selected in cricket trials in India on the basis of their talent and skills, not on the basis of money and recognition, and they get to see a fair selection process. A fair selection process ultimately b

Approximately 150 years ago, England gave birth to a sport that has today become the life of millions of people in India. It is a sport regarding which, perhaps, no Englishman could have ever imagined that the gentleman’s game would one day be defined by India. Today, the Indian team is counted among the elite teams at the pinnacle of this sport. However, this was not always the case; there was a time when the Indian team was regarded as nothing more than an 'Associate Nation.' Yet, India made tremendous strides in this sport. It established its own robust domestic structure, within which children and young adults were groomed to become the next generation of Indian cricket.

The real struggle between ambition & harsh reality

However, with the passage of time, the level of competition also intensified. While there was once a time when only a select few considered cricket a viable career path, today, perhaps millions of children and young people aspire to build a career in this sport. The competition in India has grown to such an extent that millions of applications are now submitted for a single available slot. Many fraudulent leagues and academies exploit this surge in applications, making a quick profit before vanishing without a trace. Consequently, a child who dreams of becoming a cricketer—yet lacks the necessary resources and belongs to a family merely struggling to make ends meet—often ends up sacrificing his dreams to secure a better future for his family. Although he may carry the lifelong regret of never having become a cricketer, he never shares this burden with anyone other than himself.

Even today, there are millions of such children across India who cannot afford the exorbitant fees charged by cricket academies and, for that very reason, are compelled to abandon their dreams of becoming cricketers. They are constantly on the lookout for an opportunity—one that would allow them to kickstart their cricketing career based solely on the strength of their talent. However, in the truest sense, such opportunities are few and far between, and even when they do exist, they are rarely easy for anyone to discover. While the advent of social media has certainly simplified this process, millions of children and young adults today remain on the lookout for a platform where selection is based solely on their cricketing skills—rather than on financial means or personal connections. C11CL offers precisely this opportunity to such talents.

C11CL: Chase Your Cricket Dreams

C11CL (Champions 11 Cricket League) is India's first grassroots cricket league, providing any talented individual (male or female) over the age of 14 with the opportunity to become a professional cricketer. The league was established in 2025. Through a comprehensive five-step process, the league develops players into professional cricketers, which includes cricket trials, state-level T20 matches, national camps, player auctions, and the National Cricket League. The league has created distinct categories for talents of various age groups, such as Under-16, Under-19, and Under-21. It has also introduced a specific category for corporate professionals—individuals who, due to their professional responsibilities, were unable to pursue cricket as a full-time career. This league provides these corporate professionals with a second chance to fulfil their dreams.

Where will the upcoming cricket trials be conducted?

Currently, the league is conducting trials across various states in the country. The upcoming trials are scheduled to take place in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra.

How can you register for trials?

Aspiring talents can register themselves on the official C11CL website. The registration fee is a nominal ₹1,850. The registration fee will be refunded to the best performer of the trials. During the trials, participants will be allowed to bat and bowl for three overs; those who deliver exceptional performances will earn the chance to play in state-level T20 matches, thereby gaining valuable experience in professional T20 cricket. Those who deliver outstanding performances here will be sent to a national camp, where, under the guidance of experienced coaches and mentors, the players will prepare themselves to become professional cricketers. After this, aspiring talents will go into the hammer during the auction. In the auction, a franchise can bid for a player from a minimum of 5000 Rs to a maximum of 5 lakh. During the auction, the franchise will prepare its squad for the national cricket league, which will be the last phase. During this tournament, several selectors and mentors will assess the individual players' performance and select them for the state, zonal and national teams setups.
